My doggy weekend

Hi everyone!

I haven´t been posting much lately because Sara´s a bit angry at me... She says I´m going trough a rough teenage stage.

Ok, so basically I have been busy with some interior renovations. Hum... just trying to give our house a new look... dunno why she´s so angry at me..
She didn´t even let me take a picture of my masterpieces to show you guys.... hrummff

Well.. today I finally convinced her to make a post about my weekend adventures :)

First I went to the park and played around with Ricardo! :) weeee

And I also played around with my friends! :)

The white little guy it´s Boris, he´s 4 months old and he also has some Golden Blood.
The basset it´s Api, he´s 8 months old like me :)

Then... Beach day!!!

I was missing my beach day a lot... so Sunday I decided to put my puppy eyes to work... and say pawwweeeesseee can we go to the beach??

And here we are, at Costa da Caparica, near our home.

when we got to the beach it was almost sunset, so there was no one there. I had the beach all for myself!

weeeeeeeeeeeeee

I even started do do some scuba diving down the water... but Sara didn´t catch it!

We played around with a stick, and then Ricardo found a huge Frisbee for me to play with ... humm OK it´s not officially a Frisbee... but it works like one! :)

When we got back home I was sooo tired... but they insisted on a bath!!
What´s with this humans and baths?? didn´t I take a bath at the beach?? geee

After my bath (no photos because it was a dangerous procedure, and the camera could get wet... and by the way... I´m a shy boy ok???) Sara hugged me :) see, I´m almost as tall as she is eheheheh
Ahhhhhh after all this fun, it´s bed time for me.. (if only this guys would let me sleep.... enough with the photos!)

Now we love blogging to share our adventures with everyone :)

Hello, Supertrooper Pu! Yep, it's official, you're one of the kids on this blog (got it? Block-blog? ahahahahah... if by any chance this wasn't a good joke is because of Carla, she's not much of an inspiration).

So, you started in the home-design stuff, hey?? Hum Hum. Try the rest of the furniture, don't condition yourself to little things... go for the big stuff, like walls, windows and closets... if they're going to get mad at you anyway, at least have some REAL fun during the process! eheheheheheheh

Pipa

Checkers sent us over to meet you. Yer lucky to live near the beach, we don't have the beach, but we have a river close. Checkers said you do Chinese names, do hillbilly Bull Terriers really have Chinese names??

Hi Pu,

Sorry I was late with the award but no worries - you don't have to pick it up and talk about it again! hee! hee!

You look like you had so much fun with Ricardo! And the pictures of the beach were wonderful...although, is the sand really red??

Oh dear, it does sound like you're going through a difficult teenage time...canine adolesence! Hope you pass through it soon - tell you humans that as long as they remain consistent with you and persistent (always enforce things, don't let you get away with things) during this time when you're testing your boundaries, then you'll come through it fine! :-)

Oh, about kinds of bones to choose: Small dogs shouldn’t chew big beef cannon bones which are probably too big and hard but these bones are just fine for a giant breed like me! I have to be careful with small bones, like ox-tail, because I might swallow it whole without chewing it properly first and end up choking on it - but a little dog could would be fine with an oxtail bone! In general, the bone should always be bigger than our mouths, so we cannot just swallow it whole.

Some of you have been asking what types of raw bones to try: If you are worried about cracking your teeth, then stay away from big, hard beef cannon/marrow bones (leg bones) - instead, try beef or lamb brisket bones (ribs) as these are much softer. Oxtail is also good if you are a small dog. If you are a smaller dog, chicken bones (eg, chicken wing) are great but they must be RAW because cooked chicken bones become very brittle and can splinter and break and cut you inside. Pork bones can be a bit fatty and so might give you an upset tummy, if you are not used to a raw diet.

Some people worry about feeding lamb bones because of the risk of hydatids (tapeworms). In New Zealand, lamb from human sources (ie. for human consumption) is inspected and usually safe. Also, the risk is really associated with the offal (kidney, liver, brain, etc) not the bones. If you are worried, freezing the lamb item at -10 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 7 days will kill the hydatids. Finally, worming your dog regularly for tapeworms will help prevent infection.

Good luck and happy chewing!

Hey Pu,

I can understand about the shyness when it comes to taking photos (especially the forbidden parts) but my humans doesn't care and worse still, they publish them in my blog!
