Hello! :D
This Sunday we had a visitor! Yes!
Our upstairs neighbor BLUE spend the day with us . It was so much fun!
Here we are playing in a yard just outside our house!
I kept telling Sara to unleash Blue... but she was scared that she might run away, because she´s not used to walk around unleashed!
PS - don´t worry about the cars, I know that I´m not allowed to go into the street!
You can see blue checking it out, but I was soooo concentrated on the treat ... hummm on the training, that she wasn’t able to distract me!
So we’re practicing the Sit command (that’s easy) and the spin command :)
Big licks to you all
PU
16 Licks:
Wow, great job on your tricks!!
I can relate - Nigel can never be leash free. If only the clicker would do the trick!
Good job Pu! Youre so cute! Hugs Joey and Kealani

Beijinhos grande e continuação do bom trabalho*
Oh Pu!! I am just so continually impressed by you! You learn so fast!! And doesn't Sara look so proud of you at the end of the video? :-)
Have you seen the video on YouTube of the famous Golden Retriever, Rookie, doing a dance routine to music from Grease? (It's here if you have not seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqbVbPvlDoM) - well, I think you could easily be the next Rookie! You are wonderful!

ps. if you're doing the Hand Target and Sit really well now, Sara can start to fade the clicker away and just reward you with praise or occasional treats...Also, she can start trying to get you to follow her moving hand for the Hand Targeting, since you can touch it so well with your nose now. Ask her to walk with her hand held out to the side and give you the same command and you will follow her hand to try and touch it with your nose and walk next to her. If she holds her hand up high, this will make you pick your head up (to try and touch it) and trot your legs - which looks very nice!
Sara, you inspired us with your videos. We got out the clicker and have been trying to teach Farley some new tricks, since we weren't good about training when he was little. Pu is doing so good!
Gotta love that treater...I mean clicker!!!

És rápido Pu! E sempre atento! Bom trabalho!
Pu estás cada vez melhor! :D O clicker faz mesmo efeito! :D A minha Mana quer comprar um, e eu também quero, só de ver a quantidade de biscoitinhos que posso receber com ele, mas ela não consegue encontrar em lado nenhum... :x

Hey Pu - hope you're well and still doing lots of training!
I just wanted to let you know that I have posted 2 more 'tutorial videos' of new tricks which you might be interested in!

Hi again, Pu - thanks for you comment and update!! I can't wait to see your video - you are the fastest learner I know!!
About your question, tell Sara to be patient - my goodness, if you have only just learnt this last night, you are already doing amazing to follow a hand gesture - don't worry, Rome wasn't built in one day!! :-) It is actually much easier for us dogs to follow body language and hand gestures than spoke words - something most humans don't understand - they are always babbling to us and expect us to understand everything they say and get mad when we don't! :-) I still follow Hsin-Yi's hand gestures much better than just verbal command. But just be patient and tell Sara to keep associating your word (eg. "thank you" or "bow") with the action every time and then after a bit, see if she can do a smaller hand action but say the word...this way she is fading away the hand gesture and then after a while, see if she can try to just say the word and you might do the bow without the hands. But don't worry - this may take a few weeks so no rush!! You're doing FANTASTICALLY already!!
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
