Once upon a time...

... In a country far far away (right here in Almada City – Potrugal) , there was a noble dog (crazy furry creature) that lived in a beautiful home!

Everyday, his master’s would do a house check before leaving the noble dog (crazy furry creature) alone for the day, removing every harmful equipment that they thought it could catch the noble dog’s (crazy dog!) attention.

One peaceful sunny day, his masters got out in a hurry, and forgot an interesting electronic equipment laying around in the sofa…

The noble dog, full of curiosity decided to analyze (profoundly) the equipment, fragment by fragment… And the result was:

The noble dog (crazy pup) even got the hiccups when his master talked to him (actually she shouted at him) about the remote control…

PU: “I’m sorry … soo sorry”

Note: the first remote is not the one that was destroyed, but an identical one...

Sunday... or should we call it Beach Day?

Hi guys :)

I decided to change the name of Sunday to: Beach Day! Yup, I have been going to the beach every Sunday... and it’s much easier for me to keep track of the days if I just call it beach day!

Here are some photos :

I dunno how to swim yet... but I sure love to be in the water :)

A walk in the park

Ok, Sara and I came to an understanding, I´m going to do most of the blogging from now on (better safe then sorry hihi ).

So today she took me for a walk in the park :)

I loooove this park, and it´s my first spring, so lot´s of new things to discover!
Sara, what are those white and purple pretty things? they sure smell nice :)

Ok, I think I can catch it. Yes, I´m going to catch it and you can cook it for dinner ok?
No??? why not??? *hurrrmmmp*

Found a stick :) ehehehe it´s mine!

Betrayed!!

aauuhhhfff!!!

Hi everyone! This is Pu posting today.

Yeah, I have banned Sara from my blog for a couple of days! I’m really mad at her! How could she do this to me???? To meeee???

Now that I’m getting the girls attentions, now that I was becoming a perfect gentleman, now that I’m all cute and strong??? She goes on and makes a post about my “Pacifier obsession”???

Come on!!! She couldn’t have done that to me… she really hurt my “doghood”.

No more posting for her! And yes… oh yes… she’s going to get my revenge! No more Mr. nice guy! I’m not playing with her anymore (dunno if I’m going to resist… but… I’ll try), no more performing tricks for her (hum… only if she has those huge cookies for me), no more sleeping next to her in the couch (hummm… well…. I’m only a dog… )

The pacifier obsession ... ?

In Portugal, many babies suck on a pacifier... or security blanket . This behavior makes them feel calm and secure; so many parents tend to encourage this behavior to avoid crying.

Ricardo and I always said "one day ... when we have kids .. there will be no pacifier "!!! Well… we shouldn’t have said that, we should have bite our tongue, because you never know what the future holds for you.

Our little furry frind (PU) decided to make a "pacifier" out of all his stuffed animals…

Yeah, as I had told you in my previous posts, he loves to suck on his teddy bear. It keeps him really ZEN.

Notice his "Leave me alone face.... can´t you see I´m doing my thing...?"

This behavior was funny when he was a little puppy, but now that he is 33 kg and huge, we began to think if it was normal or not.
So we questioned an expert in the field: Zhyph. She’s is a VET student with a very interesting blog, and she’s extremely dedicated, and helpful with any questions.

Here are the answers (in Portuguese):

Briefly :

  • Sucking the teddy bear does not cause future behavior problems, just have to make sure he doesn’t swallow anything.
  • We also have to find out what led to this behavior (some common causes are: separation anxiety, stress, or simply boredom (I think this is the case of PU)).

We think that Pu uses his “pacifier” when he is bored, or when no one plays with him, so it should not be anything to serious.

We can discontinue the behavior (using the methods described by the vet), or simply let him have his ZEN moment.

We are still thinking about it ... but most likely we will begin to tell him that is wrong, and try to substitute the stuffed animal with a chewing bone or something else.

What do you think?

Amazing!

Yesterday we left Pu “home alone” for the morning. Well he knew that it was Sunday, and normally it’s HIS day… so he was a little sad.
We went out, and suddenly I remember that I didn’t close the storeroom door… OH MY GOD!

I guess I was prepared to come home to a total disaster! A “Pufas style demolition“!

But the surprise Pufas prepared for us wasn’t that bad…

He only focused his attention on a pack of milk… so, after putting him on a 15 minutes “time out”, we were off to the beach!

Lalala I’m going to the water!
